Alessandro Melchionda

I was born in Italy in November 1979.
I studied filmmaking at ITSOS Alber Steiner in Milan.
After graduating from the University of Cinema of Bologna (DAMS) I joined the Silvio Soldini’s ShortFilmLab to further my skills in directing actors.
I have directed commercials since 2010 working across luxury brands, blue chips and FMCG companies such as Vodafone, Aston Martin, Colmar, Vibram, Banca Intesa, Edison, Terna, Iren, Meggle.
Automotive is my passion and I've gained a lot of experience in this sector working with Aston Martin, Peugeot and Pagani. This experience permitted to me to direct Ferrari, Lamborghini, AMG, BMW, AUDI, and FIAT in "DRIVEUP" the most important TV show about motors in Italy, on air for ten season on MEDIASET.
My TV background is mostly about cars, promo and sports events: I've worked with Sky, RAI, Mediaset and Discovery.
I wrote and directed "CLACSON" which was selected as short movie for the David di Donatello Awards in 2013.
In the same year the trailer of my documentary "DAYS OF GIANTS", about the toughest endurance trail in the world, won the third prize at the Sportel contest in Monaco.
"NAUSICAA" my latest shortfilm, starring Francesca Inaudi and Ida Marinelli, was selected for the Madrid International Film Festival 2017 and CATE 2017 (Santa Monica Premiere Film Festival).
I was the Art Director of "SONO GASSMAN", a documentary film by Sky Arte, presented at the 2018 Rome Film Festival and winner of the 2019 Nastro d'Argento.
My creative eye, skills and experience as a director are looking forward new stories to tell.
